Firefighting/EMT Instructor - North Tech

As a North Tech Firefighting/EMT instructor, you will support and teach high school students as they explore and learn a comprehensive curriculum to prepare for employment and post-secondary education. provide them with the real-world skills and experience they need to realize success. Your experience in the industry and advanced certifications will inform your teaching as you support students on their journey to becoming Fire 1, Fire 2, and EMT certified. 


North Tech teachers are generously compensated and receive benefits, including insurance, paid time off and holidays, access to staff health clinics, and more. They work from 7:10 AM to 2:40 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours for school-related events.

 

A teaching certificate is not required upon hire, but applicants must apply for a career and technical education certification through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and complete up to 18 college credit hours to obtain their Career and Technical Education Teaching Certificate.

 

SSD operates two competitive-entry technical schools in St. Louis County, North Tech and South Tech. Through partial-day programs, students from all 22 districts in the county attend these schools to earn high school credit, college credit, certifications, licenses, and other advanced credentials.
