As a Special School District (SSD) teacher of deaf and hard-of-hearing students, you provide individualized instruction and support tailored to the diverse learning abilities of your students, ensuring they reach their full potential. Your expertise in the language and communication needs of our students, your proficiency in sign language, your collaborative approach to differentiated instruction, and your unwavering commitment to fostering an equitable, inclusive, and accessible learning environment will contribute to the success of every student under your guidance. A DHI certification is required for this position.

 

SSD teachers work closely with professionals across various disciplines. Together, you will craft comprehensive and effective learning plans, providing the necessary scaffolding for each student to excel. This collaborative effort involves continuous assessment and monitoring of progress, with the flexibility to adapt and modify plans as needed. The collective dedication of SSD staff extends beyond academics and includes the provision of patience, empathy, and advocacy to every student.
