As a Special School District (SSD) early childhood teacher, you provide individualized instruction and support tailored to your students' diverse learning abilities, ensuring they reach their full potential. Your expertise in the special education process, collaborative approach to differentiated instruction, and unwavering commitment to fostering an equitable, inclusive, and accessible learning environment will contribute to the success of every student under your guidance.
Special education teachers work closely with professionals across various disciplines. Together, you will craft comprehensive and effective learning plans that provide the necessary scaffolding for each student to excel. This collaborative effort involves continuous assessment and monitoring of progress, with the flexibility to adapt and modify plans as needed. The collective dedication of SSD staff extends beyond academics, encompassing patience, empathy, and advocacy for every student.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, specialization in special education preferred
- Classroom experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) teaching certificate in Early Childhood Special Education required

Salary
- $49,000 to $83,250/year based on experience and education
Calendar
- 10-month school year (August to June), exact dates dependent on assigned location
