Special School District (SSD) speech-language pathologists (SLPs) champion our mission by fostering the development of students’ speech and language skills, ensuring all have access to general and special education. As an SLP, your assessment and intervention services will empower students with communication disorders or delays to realize their full learning potential. SLPs are committed to developing the individualized plans required by each student in their care and prioritize accessibility and inclusive practice. 

 

SLPs work during school hours, are generously compensated, and receive benefits, including insurance, paid time off and holidays, access to staff health clinics, and more. SLPs can serve single or multiple schools, depending upon their assignment.

Salary 

  • $55,635 - $83,250/year based on education and experience

Experience & Education

  • Master’s degree in communication disorders required. 
  • Speech/language teaching experience in schools or other comparable settings preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

  • Missouri licensure in Speech Pathology or SPCH/LANG SPCL K-12 required

Calendar

  • 10-month school year (August to June), exact dates dependent on assigned location(s)
